Day One of Phase One

Here is a short overfew for those who know nothing about this diet. The first 9 days (also called phase 1) are a detox period were you are put under somewhat strick regulations in order to cleanse your body and aid your weight loss. You are encouraged during the whole diet to eat 4-5 small meals a day, and never skip a meal if possible. During this phase unlimited amounts of fruits and veggies are on the menu along with limited amounts beans, oatmeal, yogert, milk, brown rice, veggie burgers and a few other items. You are also encouraged to drink lots of water throughout all phases as well. It becomes a little less strict as you complete each phase ending with phase 4 which is suppost to continue into your day to day life, as you will have learned to eat healthy and life more healthy throughout the 90 day plan. So here goes.
(FYI- i work nights part of the week, just wanted to explain the sometimes odd eating times.)
Day 1 April 5th 2010

Meal 1- 1am 6oz. container of yogert, 1cup of Strawberries, 6 green grapes and water.
Meal 2- 5am Apple 1 cup of sleepy time herbal tea
Meal 3- 1:30pm 1cup cooked oatmeal with 1 pack sugar substatute and a banana and 1 cup of 1% milk
Meal 4- 5:30pm Big salad with romaine lettace, 1/2 a green pepper, 1 roma tomatoe with 3 Tbs of low fat red wine vinigerette dressing and 6 frozen green grapes
Meal 5 - 1 medium orange and 1 cup of lemon herbal tea

Workout? Yes, at 3:30pm today went to the Gym did 5 min warm up walk at 3.5mph pace, 35min run at 5.4mph pace, then 10min cool down at 3.5mph pace and streched. For a total of 50 min. (at this stage in the program about 30 min of cardio 5 times a week is reccommended, I already did 50 min 5 times a week so i will stay with that for this stage)

Overview: Overall I felt pretty good today. I am not going to lie and say that I didn't feel hungry cause i did for a lot of the day but I dont feel any other side effects such as light headed or overly sleepy so that is a plus to most diets I've tried which have usually left me very sleepy and very hungry. I am working overnight again tonight so off to work I go.

Starting

I have recently caught on to the TV show Celebrity Fit Club on VH1 and have also been attempting to loss weight and get into better physical shape. I quickly put these two thoughts together and realized perhaps the plan these celebrity use would work for me. So I did a small amount of research and found that the diet used was The Fat Smash Diet, but Dr. Ian Smith and that something like 75% of online users say they got great results.. After working out and eating better since December (almost 4 months) and lossing about 16lbs. I was interested and quickly bought the book. That brings you to today, the day I am starting phase one of this four phase diet. This blog is mostly a way for we to track my working out and eating but if I can help someone along that way that sounds good to me. Starting date; April 5th 2010 Starting weight 204.8 lbs. I am hoping to loss 40-50 Lbs eventually (probably not within the 90 day diet but who knows!) Wish me luck!
